The first time I did in college I had a battle every single time I tried to accomplish my goal. I'll explain what I mean.
I wanted to do one load of towels, not two, just ONE! So I live on the 3rd floor and the laundry room is in the basement. I took my towels in a laundry bag and went down my 3 flights of stairs to put my load in. I paid 75 cents and I went upstairs. The timer on the washer said 42 minutes so, I came down after 42 minutes. It said it still had 10 minutes left. I thought, okay I'll just go back upstairs and come down in 10 minutes. Did that. The washers said it still had 5 minutes left. I went back upstairs and came down after 5 minutes. It said 1 minute on it so I waited. Then I put my towels in the dryer for 45 minutes. I came back down after 45 minutes and what do you know, IT'S NOT DONE! Now, who would've guessed that? Me. My towels were still damp. I put more quarters in for another drying cycle except I added more time to the dryer above mine instead of mine. Luckily that person came downstairs to get their laundry and gave me a quarter because she felt bad for me. Pity worked in my favor. I put it one another cycle and came down when it was done. Still damp. I put it on for 2 more cycles and prayed that the laundry would be done! Finally I came down and my towels were done. I folded them and put them away. It was a battle. Let me present some math here:
Times going up & down stairs = over 10 times
Money spend = Almost $3
Time spent = 4-5 hours
This was all of ONE LOAD of towels! I was the worst battle I've ever fought, and I didn't even win. The stupid washer and dryer teamed up and beat me :(
